Tanya's Apple Cider
'Tis the season for apples, cinnamon and cranberries! Our dear friend, Tanya shared with us this holiday drink -apple cider and we fell in love with it. Dump all these ingredients in a slow cooker. Hey, and before you know it, you have yourself a nice warm cup of goodness in your hands.
Recipe type: Holiday Drinks
  • 8 medium Rome apples, Granny Smith apple, Braeburn (cored, quartered)
  • 1 orange (peeled & cut)
  • 1 lemon (peeled & cut)
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cups fresh cranberries
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ tsp cloves, whole
  • 1 star anise, whole
  1. Place your quartered apples, orange, lemon, sugar, cranberries, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, allspice, and anise in a slow cooker. Pour 3 quarts of water or until fruits are covered.
  2. Cook on high for 4 hours or on low for 6 hours.
  3. Mash the apples with a potato masher and drain it through a sieve and place it back into the crock pot to keep it warm for serving.
  4. Enjoy!
